RL US History around the 1860's: a nasty f*ckin war, which killed like 360K RL men, was fought to free slaves. SL 2008: I have more slaves that want to serve me than I can handle. KM scratches head... I don't quite get this, being educated that slavery was a really BAD thing. Yet in SL, you have male, female, furry, whatever slaves all over the place. Collar, shackles and all. And in keeping with our new open-source economy, these slaves are free! I'm not a psychologist and all this slavery shit intrigues me. And in SL, you don't read about it in some textbook, you can live it.
Before SL, I knew of some kinky shit, BDSM, etc. But I had no idea that lurking in the mind of people in RL (like the dude in front of you when your checking out at the grocery store), is someone who wants to be enslaved. They want to be told what to do, when to do it, and will do practically anything to keep their Master happy. Humiliation: one of my fetishes is a muscle bottom in garters and tights, ok, I'm a perv. Flogging. Manipulation, i.e. demanding the slave to perform certain acts (with TOS, of course) with other avis. If u can imagine it, and propose it to them right, you can pretty much get whatever u want.
A slave will do practically anything then to be 'owned'. My experience is that slaves don't want to be loved, certainly don't want to be kissed or fondled, they want to belong to someone they respect, fear and have the hots for. And they have limits too, each one has their boundaries as far as how much they will take. But they have some need for respect and, of course, they want your attention.
There are some advanced collars you can buy which will control the slave, i.e. make him follow you on a leash, "nadu", somersault, whatever. There are a lot of models out there. Personally, I'm not into that. The verbal control I exert is plenty.
The downside of having a slave is that if something long-term begins to form, eventually you may be faced with making your slave your 'chat buddy'. There's the rub. My domination should not show the challenges and shit of RL. A Master is above that. Therefore, I've not had a successful long term M/S relationship, cuz SL is a social outlet as well, livin in the hills in RL, as I do, but phi beta kappa from UC Berkeley.
Since slavery is uncharted waters, I take it a day at a time. In the last week, I have found a cool slave, muscle bottom, willing to serve and calls me Sargeant. hehe, goes along with my gun collection and fatigues pretty well.
And a shout out to some of the hot BDSM clubs, which offer up their toys for free: especially Faucault Dungeon and Hub's.

Hey Karim - Nice you have you back my friend. So, I had to comment on your introduction to this slavery piece. Obviously there is a big difference between US slavery and that found in SL...one is ultimately voluntary and the other was not. Despite collars and a desire to keep in character with this slave/master role playing...one can always turn off their computer, create and alt, or do any number of things to break free. I would imagine that if the repression was of a more permanent nature, it wouldn't exisit here in SL either.
I have to add that even I did a week or two stint of Master role play, but quickly discovered it just wasn't who I am. I find it so rare to find relationships where the power and respect are balanced between the two people. I feel I currently have such a relationship in SL but I think I am in the minority. Sure...I may take the pink ball over the blue, but I don't convert that into a dom/sub relationship framework.
Anyway...my two cents. Welcome back friend, it's good to have you back.
Is it wrong for this blog to have made me "hot"?
Interesting! Mmmmmmmm
hmm.. didn't expect to find Naro in the comments to THIS post.. interesting.
Anywhoo.. I've been told more than a couple times that i'd make a good "master" solely based on my ability to listen and focus on where other people are coming from.
I *kinda* even have someone wearing *my collar* in rl.. long story.
But I think you have spotted somethin interesting.. All around us are people that WANT their decisions and options focused.. that WANT guidance.. and most of all want it to come from someone they trust to have their interests at heart. (I've always wanted more options personally)
Like Naro.. Glad to see you back posting!
